How I’m Ditching Menopause Weight and Keeping My Sanity

No more monthly periods and pain sounded like a great deal! In my late 40s, I couldn’t wait for menopause. Having endometriosis meant that every cycle heralded pain. As a high school teacher, I couldn’t stay home for three days every month when it was at its worst. I learned to swallow handfuls of ibuprofen and drink lots of water.

My doctor did nothing when I told her of my sleepless nights and mood swings.

“Let’s see if you can just get through the year, and if you’re still having issues, we do have a few options.”

Are you kidding? I want the options now!

I am not a doctor. This is not medical advice, but I’m a woman in my own body with my own experiences. I’m sharing those! Take all with a grain of salt (but not sugar).

Chapter 1

Sexual awakening around 12 or so. Periods! Whee! I’m a woman! Watch me, I’m a butterfly! No more white pants, and now I understand those TV…
