Nothing’s worse than a bad night’s sleep, except perhaps animal abuse. How could we rescue those six dogs?
The dry gray dog feces was piled high. Each kennel held a border collie or an Australian shepherd, a working animal. One forlorn young pup howled and jumped, clamoring for attention. I felt bile rise in my throat and my heart pounded.
